Wednesday - December 6th

1:00pm - 4:30pm	Compliance Testing Debug Support (Plaza A&B - 2nd) There are six 30 minute slots for either server or client compliance. These slots are assigned on a pre-attendance registration form. Walk-up compliance may be handled if there are open times. Attendees: Participants should be on-site 30 minutes prior to their assigned time slot to set up. Client compliance tests must bring their client software already loaded on their laptops. Note: Additional slots may be added if the demand exceeds the number of available slots.
1:00pm - 4:30pm	RETS2 Developer Quick Start Workshop (Balboa - 3rd) The RETS2 Developer Quick Start workshop is where developers will receive the latest information on the RETS2 specification suite and gain an understanding of how to apply this new standard. Gina Accawi will be the presenter. The target audience is developers with a background in the real estate domain. Workshop Overview: 1. Identifying underlying technologies a. Where to find documentation on web services b. Shared collection of useful web services resources 2. Reviewing the RETS specifications a. In what order should the specifications be read? b. What are the key points in each document? c. Which areas are of key interest to developers of clients and of servers? 3. Data in RETS 2 a. In-depth look at the XML schemas for RETS and valid sample XML data b. Example extending RETS 2 payloads 4. Jumpstart for coding RETS 2 a. How to get started writing a RETS 2 server as a web service provider b. How to get started writing a RETS 2 client as a web service requestor 5. Sniffing out RETS 2 messaging a. A look at RETS 2 messages on the wire b. Pairing requests and responses 6. Advanced RETS 2 a. Writing clients to consume server extensions to RETS payloads b. An RQL primer c. Handling security d. Efficient handling of image data e. Leveraging XML standard tools to the max (time permitting) i. Validating messages using XML Schema ii. Using XSLT for conversion to HTML, XHTML iii. Leveraging XPath for node location, searches, and selection
1:00pm - 4:30pm	Plugfest (Plaza A&B - 2nd) The Plugfest is an open workshop for client vendors and server vendors to test their inter-operability. This is a popular event where some of the best technical staff from the industry meet to help each other connect using the RETS specification. Server vendors will sign-up before the event to provide clients with an idea of who will be there to help.
4:30pm - 5:30pm	RETS Exhibition (Plaza A&B - 2nd) Developers are given the opportunity to provide a short demonstration and talk about applications related to RETS. Unlike previous years, this session will be the elimination round to narrow the field to two or three interesting applications that will be presented to the entire RETS community for final voting for the most interesting application. As in previous years, a small prize will be awarded to the application deemed most interesting by your peers. A sign-up form will be provided to assist the presenter in organizing this event. Please check the appropriate box on the RETS registration form. Developers should expect 5 – 10 minutes to describe their application and to demonstrate the application running. This typically involves 3 – 10 Powerpoint slides and a few minutes of the application running. An LCD computer output projector and an internet connection will be provided.
5:30pm - 7:00pm	Welcome Reception (Plaza A&B - Foyer) An open reception will be hosted by NAR for all attendees of the RETS meetings. Hot Hors d'Oeuvres, Beer, and Wine will be served at this casual networking event. It is an excellent opportunity to meet and chat with others interested in the RETS world.

2:45pm - 4:15pm	Track 1 (Plaza Room - 2nd) Scenario-Specific Solutions Forum A series of informal discussions have been on-going about alternate tools or solutions for certain classes of scenarios commonly found in real estate information systems. Examples are the “RETSLite” mail list discussion group and the Business API. The forum will be used to explore how these types of solutions might fit into the RETS standard suite and what issues the stakeholders face. Track 2 (Balboa Room - 3rd) RETS.ORG Website The re-engineered http://www.rets.org site will be discussed. Active participation is desired to provide feedback to the changes and what additional features would be useful.
